Homelessness Data Improvement Framework
Embracing a data-driven, outcomes-based approach can help ensure that experiences of homelessness are rare, brief, and non-reoccurring. This requires resource investments, new and stronger partnerships, capacity building, and stronger infrastructure and governance models.
To inform an accurate estimate of homelessness across Canada and to improve quality, use, and availability of homelessness data, HICC developed the Homelessness Data Improvement Framework. The Framework provides the homeless-serving sector with a tool that can be used to identify and plan data-related improvements that drive the prevention and reduction of homelessness. This tool can also be used to guide discussions on data quality amongst community partners and local leaders.
